Review of The Sting (1973) by Luke P — 06 Feb 2010
Great story with excellent scenes of the 1920's era Joliet, Chicago area.
Of course, Robert Redford and Paul Newman were clockwork in this operation, the bookies behind the scenes acting the part, Robert Shaw's character being taken for all his money (he seems to get the raw end of the deal - as he did in JAWS when he was chewed up - but that's another story!).
To further movie's allure, in my opinion, the music of Scott Joplin's rags really added an all-around feel to the era.
