Review of The Sting (1973) by John E — 06 Mar 2011
Superlative entertainment, The Sting is one of the greatest movies that offer up complete amusement without any complex moral themes or trappings. It's just a well put-together movie that has everything needed to make a film that puts a big smile on your face.
The stars have great chemistry, the set design and music are transportive, the plot is full of captivatingly clever twists and turns (The Sting has one of the best endings of any movie I've seen).
I loved it when I was a kid, but now that I get more out of it, I love it even more. Just thinking about it puts a great big smile on my face.
