Heist/Con is one of my favourite genres and the 30s are on of my favourite periods for film - considerably high were my expectations.

The trio of George Roy Hill, Paul Newman and Robert Redford delivered though. It was a genuine pleasure to watch Redford act in his prime - charming and handsome.

The acting of the others is sublime as well and the costumes and the equipment are great and look quite real.

The score is also for the ages, a perfect fit for the montages and the pacing.

What more can you tell about it? It has Poker, old cars, horse races, some nice foot chases, hats, suits a considerable amount of suspense and some nice twists including a very surprising one at the end.

A worthy Best Picture winner that aged very well for as much as I can tell.
