Review of The Sting (1973) by Anssi V — 10 Oct 2011
A commendable heist film, with excellent actors - Paul Newman is particularly good as Henry Gondorff - a delightfully old school atmosphere and an excellent plot which keeps surprising until the very end, as it should being a heist film.
I really don't have any problems with this film, but it wasn't a total masterpiece either. Blame it for somewhat classical storyline, which wasn't a bad thing, but perhaps something little extra might have made this excellent movie even more so.
But, even still, this film has that old gentleman charm that recent movies just can't have. Watch it, you won't be disappointed.
