Review of The Sting (1973) by Joon K — 24 Aug 2013
Fun movie! The Scott Joplin music makes it bounce right along causing the ending to be even more surprising. Like with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the music along with Redford, Newman, and Hill's leadership combine into a thoroughly enjoyable piece of entertainment.
1930's Chicago is recreated lovingly by the production team. The supporting cast of Shaw, Durning, Walston, and Brennan make it fresh enough, so that the classy con men buddies routine doesn't feel old.
Not that the two charming stars could do wrong together.
