Review of The Stepford Wives (2004) by Mac.....? — 27 Jun 2008
Horrible adaptation. This movies was not supposed to be SILLY. This is one of the creepiest books I've ever read, and this movie ruins it. Being set in the current era kind of dulls the 60s-70s feel of early feminism and "mommy's little helper" duality that was so important in the book.
Nicole Kidman was okay, but I was very disappointed in Matthew Broderick. It is very clear in his acting style that his true love is the theatre now.
