Review of The Stepford Wives (2004) by Greg P — 25 Aug 2012
It's another movie adaptation of the novel that inspired the 1975 movie by the same name. The 1975 movie was suspense-horror oriented, had a nameless cast and was more or less an allegory for female socialization.
This one is comedy-oriented (with a gay couple thrown in for cheap laughs), has an all-star female cast with a few strong male leads, completely misses the point of the social or political commentary it tries to make, and the twist ending ruins everything.
