Review of The Stepfather (1987) by Jesse M — 17 Oct 2009
A cut above most films of it's kind, this is recommended mainly for Terry O'Quinn's portrayal of Jerry Blake. Jerry is on the surface, an ideal loving husband and father figure, he just wants a little order in his life. Unfortunately for Jerry- his teenage daughter is throwing a big wrench into his master plan of domestic bliss.
The film is all rather predictable for anybody that's seen a slasher flick or two, and it's all dipped into a good sized glob of 80's cheese. Some of the supporting acting is horrible and the films score offers nothing memorable.
See it for O'Quinn, it's a harmless ride that doesn't overstay it's welcome.
