An excellent character study of lonely, damaged people, with very believable character interactions, growth, and relationships. Peter Dinklage is a strong lead, showing his capabilities as a straight man - this after having seen his comic talent in Death at a Funeral and The Baxter - with a subtle, sympathetic performance.

Bobby Cannavale plays a similarly three dimensional character who clashes a good bit with the rest of the cast in being much more extroverted and at times obnoxious, though well-meaning, and he turns a likable supporting performance in and of that.

Patricia Clarkson's supporting performance is strong as well. And Michelle Williams is adorable as usual, though her role's of a smaller nature. The script is strong, and the character interactions and performances carry the film, along with its gorgeous cinematography and complementary, moody score.

All in all, a highly recommended film.
