Review of The Station Agent (2003) by William T — 26 Mar 2009
The Station Agent is a movie of amazing depth and power and bottomless heart. It is amazing that this movie is all crammed into not even 90 minutes and that it doesn't feel the least bit rushed. Peter Dinklage cements his status as an Indie icon with his breathtaking performance that I'll admit kinda makes me man-crush on him.
The other 2 leads Bobby Cannavale and Patricia Clarkson likewise turn out great performances, as does Michelle Williams, who, while she isn't there in the film for long, is highly memorable for her understated and moving role.
This film has consistently expanded its audience in the 5 years since its release via word of mouth and by all means, by the time it is 10 years old, should have the reputation of being one of the greatest buddy movies ever made.
