Review of The Station Agent (2003) by Lily R — 25 Jan 2010
This one I adore. Finbar(Peter Dinklage) is a quiet, withdrawn train nut with achondroplasic dwarfism who inherits a station house in rural New Jersey from his boss. In the small town he's even more conspicuous, but the attention recieved is not all bad.
Unwillingly he let people come closer until the walls of suspicion he's built up are penetrated. It's a wonderful, realistic movie with a great cast. Bobby Cannavale(the funky spunk-guy in SATC), Patricia Clarkson(Six Feet Under) and Michelle Williams(Brokeback Mountain) are the excellent supporting actors in this emotional, funny, sad story about humans, fears and friendships.
Peter Dinklage is one of those actors that entices me to buy a movie just because he's in it. This is the kind of movies I want to see him in. It was like it was written for him. Brilliant!
