Review of The Station Agent (2003) by Daisy M — 19 Jun 2010
A friend recommended me the Station Agent, and when I read the plot I was cautious, because movies about dwarfs could tend to get cheesy or made me shed a tear, or people might praise them because they feel sorry for the character.
But this was not the case with The Station Agent, it was simple, natural and so human. The movie's backbone was that the plot never insists in pointing out that life was unfair, instead it showed the inside journey of the three main characters towards acceptance or understanding of their situation.
This was possible by the natural performances of these wonderful actors. All the magic was in the normal, everyday routine, filmed with a lot of passion. The music score fitted perfectly, a sweet guitar tunes that felt fresh and created a warm mood.
