Review of The Statement (2003) by David S — 09 Sep 2007
A simple and straight-forward thriller about a nazi war criminal (Caine) on the run from hit men. The script is stretched out and the pacing is slow, but luckily the performances are solid, with Cain giving a riveting performance as always, and this is what keeps us watching.
There is some genuine suspense as we care for Caine's character but once he is not on screen our attention dwindles. Still, not bad of a thriller.
