Review of The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) by Paul M — 24 Oct 2009
That was pretty terrible. But worth watching once (as long as you can fast forward through most of it). It was so weird, why did they make it? Highlights include Chewie's dad Itchy using a virtual reality helmet to fantasize about a scanitly clad lounge singer, then at the end, Han kills a stormtrooper on Chewie's family's doorstep before stepping in for a couple of seconds to wish them a happy Life Day.
They later lie to the Imperial officials about the murder to cover it up. Happy Life Day everyone. (Geez, when I think about that ending, it made it all worth watching.).
