Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Codie E — 16 Jun 2009
Noah Baumbach shares the same sensibilities as his friend Wes Anderson; an intelligent and quirky humour that hides genuine and often painful emotion. And as with Anderson, Baumbach here has created an amazing and unforgettable set of characters.
Bernard is an absolute monster but still manages to be endearing and sympathetic. American Indie Cinema is my favourite type of film and this is one of the finest examples of it.
