Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Diana K — 28 Jan 2012

I found the story kind of unsatisfying, but the acting was good. To me, the whole thing was a bit derivative of Wes Anderson, but on a lower budget...also, they didn't seem to make a completely consistent effort to do the 80s.

For example, there's a Purell dispenser in the hospital, and the Hall of Ocean Life at the AMNH is very clearly the contemporary exhibit...not that it automatically makes that big of a difference, but it was noticeable to me.
