Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Lawrence B — 08 Apr 2012
Cracking, classic James Bond adventure, arguably Roger Moore's best outing in the role and one of the most enjoyable films in the series. Like Sir Rog himself, it's probably not everyone's cup of tea but for those who like a fast, fun, fantastical slice of 007 action, few films in the entries do it better than this one.
Following on from the lacklustre "Man with the Golden Gun", the whole film is one big reaffirmation of what a Bond movie should look, feel, sound and - quite simply - be like, which thrilled audiences back in '77 and still delights today, resetting the template for many a Bond to come.
