Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Barney O — 31 Oct 2016
WHAT I LIKED: This is hands down one of the best Bond stories of them all. It has a great relationship dynamic and a high-stakes story to match, making you truly care and bringing you to the edge of your seat throughout. This is exactly the kind of Bond movie Roger Moore was born for.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Moments here do begin to hint at the unbearable humour to come from the franchise...
VERDICT: The best Bond of the era, not because of the action, but because it's a personal character story. And all the best movies have that.
