Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Galaxy Quest P — 17 Sep 2012
I will never understand why Q always sends Bond vehicles in pieces like if they were sold at Ikea, and it is a little too unbelievable to think it is a clever idea now that it had been done with Little Nelly before.
The Jaws character could have been so much better if he could talk, it is a little too quiet without him talking and takes away from the quality action scenes he is in. The idea for creating an underwater life by having the superpowers destroy everything is a decent idea for a story, an it was carried off well except for the ending which seemed a little rush to have the submarines destroy each other, Stromberg die and Jaws be defeated all in a ten minute span when the movie was so much time building those elements.
They finally did the Bond girl right having her as an intelligent agent who has a grudge but falls for him in the end. Otherwise the rushed ending there was not really any big flaws and was otherwise enjoyable.
