Review of The Spy Next Door (2010) by Mickaw90 . — 14 Nov 2010
Shame that Chan didn't got role in The Pacifer movie (damn Vin Diesel! :D) But back to this movie. It was like The Tuxedo/Jackie Chan side of comedy meets James Bond.
The movie started a nicely way from to prologue where the director was picked some scenes from Jackie`s older movies. Sometimes it felt like that film its a bit reflection about Jackie`s own career. In the beginning Jackie`s character want to retire and start a normal life with his girlfriend and try get along with her children`s. Off course there are bad guys and Chan once again fight and show his funny face and his English language was a bit worse than example in The Karate Kid.
Well at least The Spy Next Door offered a something new for his career but other ways it belong to same level like The Tuxedo.
Billy Ray Cyrus acted same way like always but maybe their purpose was just get Hannah Montana audience. Rest of the cast was unknown like in every Jackie`s Hollywood movies (Sorry for George Lopez fans) and it certainly made it even weaker. Its a shame that there wasn't "the strong" villain but at least some actor/actresses tried to spoke with Russians accents.
The Spy Next Door its not the worst Jackie film, it was an average with happy ending with outtakes.
