The story is about Gillian who lives with three kids and has a next door neighbour Bob Ho played by Jackie Chan. while Gillian goes to check on her grandfather at hospital, Bob movies in to look after the kids accidentally revealing that he's a spy at a Chinese Restaurant.

Hearing this, Gillian sends him out as he's finds his enemies, a group of Russian terrorists who are trying to destroy the American reservoirs. In the end, the baddies are defeated, Bob and Gillian get together again and the movie ends on a happy note.

The film tries to blend in other secret agent films from the past such as True Lies, The Pacifier, Kindergarten Cop and a hint of Spy Kids. What I liked about this movie is the intro- WOW! This is one of the best intros I've ever seen in an action movie I mean the music, and the scenes that payed tribute to the old Jackie Chan movies- just WOW!This movie may fall flat for many people but for me it's OK.

Unfortunately, Jackie Chan's beloved physicals gifts of martial arts blended in with comedy that we saw in Rush Hour, Drunken Master, Shanghai Knights, Armour Of God, Fist Of Fury and so on are now easily fading as you can clearly see some of his action scenes are now done by string and it's sad.

The Spy Next Door gets a 8.5-7/10.
