Review of The Spy Next Door (2010) by Christina Y — 24 May 2010
Please dont hate me becuz I actually enjoy watching Jackie Chan movies ;-)) This is a light-hearted slapstick comedy about the life of Chinese superspy, Bob Ho. He fell in love with his supermodel neighbor (Amber Valleta),..oh wait, in this movie. Amber is not a supermodel but a career woman saddled with 3 boisterous kids. One day, she left her kids in the care of Bob Ho (her fiance) whilst she dashed to her father's bedside.
And this is when the fun really begins. George Lopez (his haircut really suits him here) and his cronies are excellent as bungling baddies. I actually laughed at some of their antics! Billy Ray Cyrus (Miley Cyrus' dad - this is purely for those who juz came out of the cave & have no idea who he is) is Bob Ho's reliable colleague. Yup, he plays the good guy.
Would I recommend you to watch this movie? Only if you're a Jackie Chan fan. This is not one of his greatest movies though.
