(2010) The Spy Next Door.
ACTION/ COMEDY.
Jackie Chan's poor attempt to capitalize on the 'look after the kids' genre after the success of Vin Diesel's "The Pacifier" and Dwayne Johnson's poor attmept on the "Tooth Fairy"! This time has Chan wanting to retire working for the CIA so that he can build a rapport with a single mom (Amber Valetta) and her young siblings- while there, one of the heinous prisoners escape with Chan on his mind to even a score with him after successfully putting him away! The action is few and always showcases wires which were obviously used by just looking at it! Real life supermodel/ actress Amber Valetta is nice to look at but watching this movie was at times made me "cringe", with American born bad guys speaking their bad French accents, can fool any 10 year old, but I can't picture any mature adults liking this film for any reason at all except to keep very young children occupied for two hours while the parents are doing something else!
1 out of four stars.
