Review of The Spy Next Door (2010) by Phil P — 30 Aug 2012
The only redeeming part of the movie is Jackie, the rest of the cast is utterly forgettable. Has a few laughs, but the kids are extremely annoying and the action sequences are horrible. The only person who looks like they have any idea what they are doing during the fighting choreography is Jackie Chan and even then this is by far the worst action sequences I have seen out of him.
The people he versus in those sequences do not do it any better than a random person off the street. Heck, one of them is George Lopez.. a far cry from when Jackie would bring in other professionals including world champion kickboxer Benny "The Jet" Urquidez.
This movie, however, is marketed towards children so they would very well enjoy it more than I. Hollywood brought Jackie a much larger audience but it also brought out a lot of sub-par movies from him which include this one.
His charm is the only saving grace in the entire film.
