Review of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004) by Chevy C — 25 Apr 2012
The only thing disappointing about this colorfully entertaining motion picture chronicling the spongy protagonist millions of fans know in love, is that this is a reminder that their favorite show is nowhere near as funny as it used to be during its heyday.
This movie was funny, it was memorable, it was fast paced and colorful and it even included a very funny appearance of David Hasselhoff. The plot even makes sense, which was a huge surprise for me because the last thing I would ever expect to see on a Spongebob episode, let alone a movie, would be an interesting and intelligent plot.
If the hillarious scenes involving Ice-cream induced hangovers, drunken sassy rednecks, idiodic simiese twin bikers and even epic fight scenes aren't enough to keep you interested, then the adventures of Spongebob and his mentally retarded best friend will trigger a serious feeling of nostalgia for fans who are just growing up.
