Review of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) by Corporalpajamas — 11 Feb 2015
The movie was far beyond enjoyable, the time travelling sequences made it worth seeing in 2d and 3d, the jokes were solid (i would expect nothing less) and the adventure was grand enouh to feel this was truky a successor to the original spongebob movie.
Going into the movie I was hoping for a nice chunk of traditional animation and I was definitely pleased, However I dont know if they spent enough time out if the water to really warrant the title "sponge out of water".
The cgi was downright impressive, the animation was solid, the characters were well voiced and the movie was not what one would call predictable. The rap at the ending though, was downright atrocious.it was clearly done by the creator of "epic rap battles of history" and as such reeks of his "im better than you" "no im better than you"lyrical content and his copy and paste delivery style, it had nothing to do with the film we had just watched and it cuts off the closest thing you get to a play through of the spongebob theme,it smelled so badly that it costed the film a point .
