A film like this deserves to be rated on its own standards. And it achieves what it sets out to do perfectly. Young fans will enjoy it tremendously, while long-time ones will get a huge fix of nostalgia.
Even parents may enjoy the bizarre and fanatically goofy humor. Banderas also gives a hilarious performance as the the villain for all of the iconic characters. The runtime is swift, the effects are actually quite impressive, and the jokes bring about the essence of the TV show when it was in its prime.
