Review of The Spirit (1987) by Sheryl S — 17 Dec 2012

A disappointment to say the least. A big and colorful comic book adaptation that never really clicks. Gabriel Macht is actually ok as the hero but Sam Jackson is way over the top as his arch nemesis, The Octopus.

And you think a cast of attractive women like Scarlett Johannson, Eva Mendes, Paz Vega, and Jamie King would make this somewhat enjoyable but they don't. Actually out of all the women, I only liked Scarlett's character the most.

And she was pretty good with her part. But I still can't recommend this film unless you're a die hard Spirit fan. And even then you guys should be the most pissed off by this take on the Will Eisner classic.
