Review of The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008) by Sherrilyn Rose M — 17 Jul 2009
I saw it on HBO last night and loved it. Freddie Highmore was fun to watch...playing the role of a twin - Jared the cool kid and the other is Simon the geeky-nerdy kid.
Special effects were superb...i couldn't see anything wrong with it. watching the film makes me believe that everything I saw in there was magic and that it was for real.
And what a funny ending it had! you would see Hogsqueal exclaiming:
"Fly while you can Griffin! I swallowed an ogre whole! You could be next!".
Man, it made an impression. he really was a funny, lovable character.
Di ka maka-relate saken? hehe manood ka na kasi! :).
Now who's Hogsqueal, eh? Here:
Hogsqueal is a hobgoblin who lives in the woods near the Spiderwick estate. His goal is to kill the ogre Mulgarath, but he is basically cowardly and tries to get Jared to help him. He is easily distracted by birds, which are his favorite food. Also, hobgoblin spit in your eyes will bestow the gift of 'sight' so you will be able to see the fantastical creatures that are usually unseen by humans.
And reading the film credits after the movie ended, I found out that it was Seth Rogen who lent his voice for the Hogsqueal character! gosh! seems like seth and I are really meant to be. he would be having different faces or different voices but i'd always be drawn to him...or his kind to be exact. hehehe. :).
