Review of The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008) by B P — 13 Dec 2009
I wasn't too sure what to expect from this film, but coming out the other end, I think it was really descent family fantasy reminiscent of Labyrinth, Arthur and the Invisibles and Never Ending Story, only more modern and prettier. It's all about kids who save the day because they believe in something that adults think is preposterous. Definitely rates on my 'tolerable films to watch while babysitting' list.
I am growing in respect for Freddie Highmore, especially after his roles in Finding Neverland and August Rush. One to keep an eye on, I think. =D.
