Review of The Spectacular Now (2013) by Amy M — 20 Dec 2013

I actually liked this movie, but it bothered me that the Amy character's only real flaw was that she was too forgiving and too much of a doormat. She didn't even overcome it -- we heard that she stood up to her mother at one point, but we didn't get to see it.

We didn't learn much about her in general. She didn't seem like a fully realized character, and she wasn't even what compelled Sutter to change, not really -- it was more his parents and his boss who did that.
