Review of The Spectacular Now (2013) by Alinafe M — 24 Jan 2015
This movie overwhelms me with a surge of emotions, half of which I can not explain. It is a movie so candid, so genuine and so sincere. I find that there is such an unbearable amount of clichéd teenage movies that show us in such an embarrassing light.
Sure we can be impulsive, rebellious and impressionable, but there is so much else to us. So much raw and uncapped emotion. This movie gave me hope that we can be portrayed in an honest light, no matter how hard it may be to watch.
