Review of The Spectacular Now (2013) by Maha M — 18 Aug 2014
Wasn't sure if the starting was headed anywhere, Sutter is such a party man. Then Aimee comes in.. a good girl, played oh so calmly by Shailene Woodley, and their conversations soon move the film somewhere :) As things unfold, Sutter learns (from his father, no less) how 'living only for the now' can harm people.
Truth be told, I'd probably be like his father if I had married! Well, Sutter eventually gets more sorted, thanks to his mum telling him that he is different from his dad, and that he is his own person.
He then decides he can change his tomorrow. (p/s But really, for a teenager he just drinks too much!).
