Review of The Special Relationship (2010) by Ileana A — 15 Jun 2010
Yet another cool HBO original film. I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked You Don't Know Jack, but it was still a solid film about the Clinton and Blair administrations. Everything covered here is interesting to me, from Blair's rise to power in the United Kingdom and his adoration for Clinton, to Clinton's eventual huge public relations nightmare in the Monica Lewinsky scandal, to how both leaders handled the Kosovo War.
Of course Michael Sheen's performance of Tony Blair was spot-on, and I quite enjoyed Dennis Quaid as Bill Clinton. Altogether, a very interesting and entertaining film about the relationship between these two world leaders.
