Review of The Special Relationship (2010) by Dustin G — 21 Jun 2010
Another solid Peter Morgan script. I really like his style - he gets politicians and the underhanded techniques they use sway one another and get what they want. Here, he's back in Tony Blair's world and the results are very compelling. While the story might not reach the emotional heights of "The Queen" or "Frost/Nixon" it certainly paints an interesting picture of a tumultuous political friendship.
The performances are fantastic, and it zips along. Can't wait for the next in the "Blair" series - they can't stop now!
