"ANYBODY COULD BE ANYBODY.".

Director David Mamet (Heist, Things Change) helmed this twist-a-minute headache-inducing mind game. The Spanish Prisoner is a highly deceptive and wickedly deceitful brain-teaser that manipulates the mind with it's highly intelligent and cerebral plotlines. Mamet is at his very best in this puzzle of a film that absolutely demands your attention throughout every second. As is the case in all of Mamet's films, the dialogue is snappy and quick, and the "Mamet-speak" is in full effect. A completely insane series of events that unfolds in a thrilling maze that, by the end, left me completely speechless. New details are revealed with multiple viewings. The ultimate mind game, a truly great thriller that has a mind of it's own and isn't dumbed down for a second. Smart as hell, super slick and brain-busting cinema at its near best. Great entertainment for anyone looking for an intelligent film. Damn good work from David Mamet and company.

The cast does a good job throughout with performances from Campbell Scott, Steve Martin, Rebecca Pidgeon and Felicity Huffman.
