I'm giving up an hour in. now I remember why I was never quite sold on Carrie Underwood on American Idol. she needs the studio.

Badly cast, bad acting, mediocre singing, bad choreography, bad re-writes, and entirely unnecessary all the way around. If the first is done brilliantly and doesn't benefit from modernization, why bother?

But it's still the sound of music. sort of. you could throw Elmo in the lead and I'd still enjoy singing along. just not enough to keep it up with the better version sitting on my shelf.
