Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Emily B — 07 Jun 2012
The story is classic, proven by how many adaptations have come from this story. I admit that some of the acting and songs are a little cheesy, and without Julie Andrews, it would be left at that. But Julie Andrews truly makes the movie, in my opinion.
Her singing is superb, and I love her portrayal of Maria. I also like how this movie shows the other side of the Anschluss.
