The negativity surrounding The Sound of Music surprised me. This is Julie Andrews in one of her best roles, if not her best. The music is iconic and timeless. I admit that the acting is not as good as it should be and the story is at times sing-songy and somewhat predictable.
But the cinematography is outstanding.
