Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by James O — 31 May 2011
Whilst musicals, Julie Andrews and everything about this film should make me cringe, I can't help but be impressed. It is a good story worth telling, the songs are annoying but there's the odd good one and the acting isn't all that bad, even if it is 'staged'.
Overall it is enjoyable and there's some nice scenes. Somehow it works.
