Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Stuart K — 06 Feb 2013
I love all Rodgers and Hammerstein and this is no exception. Julie Andrews is perfection in this role. The songs are wonderful, the setting breathtaking, the political backdrop is interesting contrasted with such uplifting songs.
This is a classic with a capital C, although it took me until I was about 20 to be able to watch it all the way through, when they played it on TV as a kid I would always fall asleep before the end.
