Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Judge L — 02 Apr 2015
Growing up with this classic gave me countless special memories. As a child, I was thrilled whenever it came on TV. Since it was three hours long, that meant I got to stay up past my bedtime. Even when my parents tried to get me to go to sleep after the intermission I would always protest and say, "Just until they get to Switzerland!" Its wonderfully moving story is filled with timeless songs.
It's a celebration of music, family and history. I love the fact that it doesn't shy away from the dread of war. But best of all is the dynamic between the two leads. Such a romantic film, filled with nostalgia and heart-warming moments.
