Review of The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) by C.m. W — 01 May 2014
I thought the sorcerer's apprentice was fantastic. It had some really cool and innovative ideas which utilised the use of magic into its action sequences, the effects were very good, not over the top but just right.
It was a modern day magical adventure movie which can be suitable for the family. It was funny at moments without trying to be. The whole pace and tone was subtle and just perfect, it made for a really enjoyable watch.
It had a typical plot with a predictably happy ending but thats disney, still the filling was really exciting and fulfilling. Cages experience brought some character to the film, whilst Alfred Molina made for an intriguing and mellow villain, the battles between them were great fun.
Jay Baruchel has a very annoying voice however overall I was pleasantly surprised.
