It's ok I've seen better fantasy sci-fi films but it does have its moments. There is a segment of the film very much inspired by walt Disney's Fantasia where Jay Baruchel's characeter gets the mops to clean up his apartment/lab.
Nicolas Cage plays a Sorcerer who is has been looking for a prophecy who can deal with an evil Sorceress who if released will raise the dead to control the Earth. His search takes him centuries and across the globe until his search is finally over when a young boy comes into his store.
