Review of The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) by Jared C — 30 Jan 2012
An average fantasy flick. There are some films of Nic Cage's that I enjoy such as National Treasure and Con Air. But I think he kind of fit the role well. Jay Baruchel in case you don't know is the guy who did the voice of Hiccup in How to Train your Dragon and in this one, he is insecure and shy as like his other films.
Teresa Palmer plays the girl Stutler falls for, but Palmer doesn't really give us anything much for her character. Alfred Molina is the one who gives an interesting performance, lack of course from the script.
Monica Belluci only has a small part in it and not really much to add to the film. Its the visual effects and the magic once again in a film like this that shone out above the rest.
