Review of The Social Network (2010) by Lloyd H — 27 Jan 2013
I had little knowledge of this story but when I watched this film I was interested from the outset and throughout. Considering its not the most exciting story in the world I remained intrigued as the film progressed.
I can imagine this is a story a lot of people needed and wanted to be told. I personally won't hold this film responsible as the answer to the questions that must of been asked for this story to be told in the first place.
David Fincher is one of my favourite Directors and although this film is by no means up there with the likes of 'Fight Club' I thought it was a great addition to his previous work and held its own as a successful film.
I can't stand Jesse Eisenberg but I did however enjoy his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg, regardless of how realistic or unrealistic it may of been. I personally know very little about Mark Zuckerberg, so I had no interpretations.
Andrew Garfield was very good, I'm optimistic of his future in acting and although I wasn't overly impressed by 'The Amazing Spider-Man' he nailed the role of Peter Parker. I know little of screenwriter Aaron Sorkin despite his positive reputation.
His scripting and brilliant dialogue carried the film and for me it was the witty and dry sense of humour that made this film so enjoyable. Overall this is a good film and I found it interesting and entertaining.
