Review of The Social Network (2010) by Mikael H — 18 Feb 2013
So, I've been a sucker for Sorkin - West Wing is just about one of my favourite shows of all time. And the dialogue here has the same snap to it. To a not insignificant extent, this is The West Wing goes to college.
Characters are interesting and compelling, and the pace keeps me interested. And yet...it's too West Wing-y. And one of the characters, given the nuance of the others - is a bit too much of a cardboard snake-in-the-garden-of-Eden to be very interesting, which is a disservice to the rest of the narrative.
And it never really breaks free of that. See the movie, it's worthy of a watch. But I still prefer the West Wing.
