I recognize the appeal, but "The Social Network" did very little for me. I find Sorkin's writing obnoxious, with each character boiled down to a single, hyper-exaggerated trait: Zuckerberg is awkward, Parker is pompous, Eduardo is naive.
Got it. Is it weird to call a story based on actual events predictable? Fincher is just about the most polished director there is (for good or ill), and he does a fine job once again, but I stand appreciating the layered and cultural significance of this bizarre little morality play from a far-off distance.
