As close to the classics as modern cinema gets, "The Social Network" simultaneously shows the next generation of actors, and the way that film can address issues in modern life such as social media, in one foul swoop.

Starring young up-and-comers like Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Rooney Mara and Rashida Jones, director David Fincher tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg (Eisenberg), the founder of popular social website Facebook, who deals with advice and animosity from colleagues and friends such as Eduardo Saverin (Garfield), Sean Parker (Timberlake) and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (Hammer). Told in a series of flashbacks as Zuckerberg deals with multiple remedial sessions with various lawyers, it highlights a series of complex and troubled characters - a brave move by the film, considering all parties remain alive and influential today.

An eye-opening corporate tech drama. Impossible to hate.
