Review of The Social Network (2010) by Gavin M — 12 May 2014
David Fincher always manages to direct with such flair, verve and energy and it's never been more apparent with The Social Network, in my view he's the best director working just now. Aaron Sorkin's witty (and sometimes very funny) script is razor sharp and Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake all give the best performances of their career, but for me the true stand-out is Armie Hammer (who plays the Winklevoss twins) in an absolutely stunning dual role, it's beyond me how he didn't win best supporting actor, never mind not even getting nominated! The structure of the film is also so well thought out and it's one of the most re-watchable films I've seen.
A true modern classic.
